Almost four months after news of their divorce became public, Jeannie Mai is accusing rapper Jeezy of being unfaithful to her during their marriage. Additionally, Mai’s allegations may cause Jeezy to pay up.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Mai has reportedly responded to Jeezy’s September 14 divorce filing. A statement in the response filing, allegedly written by Mai’s lawyer, asserts that she is “amending” the claim to “add other grounds for divorce.”
“Wife reserves the right to amend this counterclaim to add other grounds for divorce, but which Wife does not wish to specify herein at this time in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Jeezy disclosed in his initial divorce filing that he and Mai’s split was “was irretrievably broken… [with] no hope for reconciliation.”
The outlet alleges that Mai’s responding documents accuse Jeezy of being unfaithful during their marriage. Additionally, the filing asserts that the rapper should face a “significant financial penalty” due to his and Mai’s prenuptial agreement.
“Wife further shows that the Court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the Prenuptial Agreement regarding infidelity which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or Direct Messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party …” the document reads, per TMZ.
Mai’s November 30 filing reportedly does not disclose whom Jeezy allegedly had an extramarital relationship with.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai on September 14. The pair were reportedly married for two and a half years.
In the court documents, reportedly obtained by PEOPLE, the rapper declared that their union “was irretrievably broken.” Additionally, Jeezy reportedly shared his wishes for him and Mai to share custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco.
Initially, Mai remained silent on the matter. However, on October 11, the 44-year-old took to Instagram to break her silence. The television host posted a photo of a lined notebook with the words, “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal.”
A day after sharing her post, Mai appeared as a guest on ‘SHERRI.’ Speaking with host Sherri Shepherd, Mai disclosed her reaction to her and Jeezy’s divorce going public and talked about leaning on God and her daughter during the life change.
On October 19, Jeezy addressed his divorce going public with an official statement, per The Shade Room. The rapper explained that the decision to end his marriage was not made “impulsively.” Additionally, he explained he still has “love and respect” for Mai, as their time together “holds a cherished place in my heart.”
Earlier this month, Jeezy sat down with Nia Long in an exclusive interview. At some point during the discussion, the rapper detailed how he and Mai tried to “save” their marriage to no avail, per The Shade Room.
