Jay-Z has officially reached new heights when it comes to getting that coin. He has now become the first hip-hop artist to become a billionaire.
According to Forbes, Jay-Z has, of course, reached his new billionaire status through his multiple business ventures both inside and outside of music. Making the hip-hop mogul now one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire, and “the first hip-hop artist to do so.”
When it comes to building his empire and his fortune, Jay-Z literally has his hand in almost everything, from art, to real estate, stakes in major companies like Uber, and even encompassing liquor.
His brand D’Ussé is officially worth $100 million, while his streaming service Tidal is also worth $100 million. His entertainment company Roc Nation, which was founded a decade ago is worth $75 million, and his classic music catalog is also worth $75 million.
Jay-Z has also talked about the importance of investing in art, and he has his very own art collection worth $70 million and real estate properties in Bel-Air, East Hampton and Tribeca worth $50 million, along with many other ventures.
Swizz Beatz talked about Jay-Z’s accomplishments and said, “It’s bigger than hip-hop … it’s the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us.”
Congrats to Jay-Z for reaching this milestone and always laying out the blueprint for the culture.
