Jasmine Crockett is making a move to trademark her viral comment made against Marjorie Taylor Greene during a heated House exchange.
According to USA Today, Crockett filed a trademark application for rights to the phrase “Beach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body” on Sunday, May 19. The outlet adds that on Friday, May 17, Crockett took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to seemingly tease her plans for the viral phrase.
On Friday, Crockett explained that she has plans to drop “A Crockett Clapback Collection.”
“This collection will feature various swag that includes random things I’ve said,” she tweeted. “The money will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House! Give me a little time to really get the swag online etc., but B6 will drop first. If you have things you want to see come to life let me know. Post graphics or just phrases that you want to see.”
Additionally, Crockett ended her tweet with the hashtag, “#bleachblondbadbuiltbutchbody,” and a photo of forthcoming merchandise for the viral phrase.
According to USA Today, Crockett’s trademark filing shows that she plans to use the phrase for “clothing, including hats, hoodies, socks, and T-shirts, as well as political consultancy.”
Social media users reacted to Crockett’s recent filing in The Shade Room’s comment section.
While Instagram user @sugoichan added, “GIVE US TSHIRTS AUNTIE!!!!!!!!”
Instagram user @aldrenmccullar wrote, “Her merch is about to sell out!! She has my money!! Lol 💪🏽‼️”
As The Shade Room previously reported, the House Oversight Committee convened for a meeting on Thursday, May 16. During the ordeal, Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to a question from Crockett by saying, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
From there, Greene was called out for her “attack” on Crockett’s physical appearance by fellow representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Additionally, Ocasio-Cortez asked Greene to apologize for her insult.
Greene ultimately refused the request, and it was reportedly ruled that her words “did not violate House rules against engaging in ‘personalities’ during debate.”
However, that didn’t stop Crockett from taking her defense of herself into her own hands.
“I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling,” Crockett said to the room. “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”
The ordeal subsequently went viral on social media.
As The Shade Room previously reported, on Friday, May 17, Crockett spoke exclusively to CNN. At the time, she explained that she believed Greene’s remarks toward her were made out of racism.
“That’s all it is, it is racism. And she decided that she was going to be that person out loud and out front on yesterday. The difference is I just wasn’t going to take it lying down,” Crockett explained. “She is racist. I mean, I don’t have any questions about that.”
On Friday, Greene also doubled down on her words about Crockett and additional side comments made about Ocasio-Cortez.
“…AOC isn’t intelligent. Jasmine Crockett has fake eyelashes. These aren’t attacks on personalities. These are just facts,” Greene wrote in part on X.
Meanwhile, as Crockett prepares to release her “Beach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body” merchandise, Greene returned to X earlier this week to defend her physique.
“Yes my body is built and strong… NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle. Soon turning 50 years old, God willing, I will continue to lift, run, swim, play sports, surf, ski, climb and LIVE this life to the fullest and enjoy every single moment!” she wrote.
