Jamie Lynn Spears Reportedly In Negotiations With Nickelodeon To Reboot ‘Zoey 101’

Roommates, would you be willing to spend another semester at Pacific Coast Academy? Well, you may get your chance. According to TMZ, Jamie Lynn Spears is reportedly in talks to being back her hit series “Zoey 101” to Nickelodeon.
It’s been 11 years since the last airing of “Zoey 101” but with the return of other hit shows such as “Blues Clues” and “All That,” it seems like network execs are considering reprising Jamie Lynn’s role, but with some “edgier” changes.
TMZ reports that the premise of the show would be a look at Zoey’s life in Southern California, ten years later. Zoey’s character would now be 28 and have a couple of kids as well. What’s ironic about this is the fact that Jamie Lynn actually had two children since the show finished airing in ‘08 after four seasons.
Now, for you dedicated “Zoey 101” fans, there are still a few questions that have gone unanswered. If you’re wondering about Zoey’s past love interest, Chase, it is still unclear as to whether or not we will get any closure on their relationship. It also remains unclear whether or not Austin Butler, who played James on the show, will be returning. Butler recently just landed a role as Elvis in the new Baz Luhrmann biopic, so he may be a little booked and busy.
It seems as though Spears has a lot of projects in the works. She recently signed on to be part of the upcoming Netflix series “Sweet Magnolias.” However, as major as that may be, “Zoey 101” would undoubtedly be a show stealer. #Roommates, we are definitely living in the age of nostalgia.
