As of Monday (April 17), Jamie Foxx remains hospitalized in Georgia, per a CNN “source with knowledge of the matter.”
The outlet added that Foxx’s medical complication allegedly didn’t happen on the set of Back In Action, which the actor was filming in Georgia alongside Cameron Diaz for Netflix. Additionally, CNN reports that an ambulance did not transport Jamie to the hospital.
Though rumors have been swirling about the cause of Jamie’s hospitalization, his family and reps have not released any additional statements since Corinne Foxx initially shared the “medical complication” last week.
See the official statement from the Foxx family below:
Jamie Foxx suffered a “medical complication” earlier this week, according to his eldest daughter, Corinne Foxx. The severity of the complication remains unknown, but Corinne, in an Instagram post, revealed the award-winning actor, comedian, and singer is already recovering.
Corinne’s post, signed “The Foxx Family,” said:
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
The rest of the statement doesn’t detail the ‘complication,’ including if it caused any temporary or long-term physical or mental limitations. Instead, the family asked for privacy.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
As mentioned, no additional details are known about the “complication” Jamie suffered on Tuesday, April 11. However, an updated report by TMZ claims “sources with direct knowledge” said Foxx was hospitalized.
“He’s communicating now, so that’s good news,” one of TMZ’s sources reportedly said.
Additionally, their sources claim the complication’s severity was sufficient to bring out-of-town family members to Jamie’s side at the hospital.
On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the actor reportedly refused to give CNN additional commentary about Foxx’s condition beyond “what was posted.”
Multiple reports state Jamie was recently filming for Seth Gordan’s action-comedy film Back In Action in Georgia.
This is a developing story.
