Word on the street is that James Harden is headed over to the Los Angeles Clippers, and NBA fans have gotten the conversation goin’ on social media!
ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski shared the news via X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday evening (Oct. 30), citing “sources.”
That same evening, Shams Charania reported that insiders confirmed the news with The Athletic, adding that P.J. Tucker was being traded as well.
Neither the Clippers nor the 76ers have publicly acknowledged the reported development on social media. However, Adrian Wojnarowski further dished during an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up series on Tuesday (Oct. 31).
Wojnarowski declared, “Clippers and Sixers started the talk again over the weekend on a Harden trade. Philadelphia simply wanted to do everything they could to avoid trying to reincorporate James Harden into this team.”
Once the reports began swirling, people swiftly began chiming in on social media.
First and foremost, many fans were psyched to learn that James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George would all be playing on the same team.
Nonetheless, Stephen A. Smith spoke on the Clippers’ shifting roster during First Take by declaring, “This is it for them as far as I’m concerned.” Supporting this point, he mentioned that Harden, Westbrook, and George are “in the top 9 of most games played without an NBA championship.”
A couple of users joked that L.A.-based strip clubs would be pleased to learn the news!
Others noted that Sixers fans were more than ready to bid James Harden adieu.
Humorously, one user summed the overall experience up by remarking, “Two happiest days of a NBA fan’s life are when their team trades for James Harden, and when their team trades away James Harden.” Oop!
