#Roommates, if it’s one thing we know by now, it’s that celebrities love adding their own personal brands to their resume—and the legendary Jada Pinkett Smith is the latest to do so. It was recently announced that Jada has officially launched her own sustainable personal care brand that will be available at one of the most popular retail chains in the country…Target!
@People reports, if you follow Jada Pinkett Smith on social media, then you know that she frequently shares her beauty routine, along with selfies of her flawless, radiant skin. Which is why the creation of her new beauty brand is a perfect fit. ‘Hey Humans’ is Jada’s sustainable personal care line inspired by her children Jaden, 22, and Willow, 20. The line is described as affordable and 99% plastic-free—and it’s currently available at all Target stores.
‘Hey Humans’ initially has four products for customers to choose from, including body wash, body lotion, natural deodorant and toothpaste. The gender-neutral personal care line is packaged in aluminum and paper, due to the fact they are recyclable materials that reduce carbon footprints and help to eliminate plastic from cluttering the ocean.
Speaking about her decision to create the ‘Hey Humans’ line, Jada Pinkett Smith had this to say:
“What really inspired me was my kids, Willow and Jaden, who have educated me around the environment and the necessity to really shift habit in the way we consume. I love personal care and I’m a beauty junkie, but recently I’ve had a lot of anxiety around packaging, and I thought, ‘What can I do in this space?’ I really wanted to start with products that we use every day — toothpaste, deodorant, body wash — and find ways that we could have a more sustainable packaging.”
She continued sharing more about why she wanted to make sure her product line was eco-friendly. “I’m old school, I really am, so all of this is very new for me. I’m on a journey in regards to getting educated and just doing my part in regards to how I can be part of the sustainability movement. We’re always talking about, ‘Let’s save the planet.’ At the end of the day, it’s really about how do we sustain humanity.”
