It’s undeniable the chemistry Ja Rule and Ashanti had back in the early 2000’s when they were still on Murder Inc. They serenaded us with hits like “Always On Time” and “Mesmerize” and now it’s looking like they’re rekindling an old flame.
In a recent interview with Billboard, the Grammy-nominated rapper talked about the effects jail had on his music career and projects that are currently on the way. Back in 2011 he served a 28-month sentence, which took him off of the music scene for sometime. He said, “I realized the things I had worked so hard for were slipping away. I had a lot of time to reflect on the things I was doing to contribute to the problems I was having.”
After being released back in 2013 he began working on music here and there, but that has all led up to what he’s been working on as of recently. He revealed that he and Ashanti are teaming up to release some new music, along with a world tour and even a film. “Me and Ashanti are about to go on a big world tour… and we’re putting together a music and film project with our whole Natural Born Killers tour and EP. It’s kind-of like a Streets is Watching type of film.”
There are no official release dates as of yet, but in the meantime we can catch Ja Rule and his family on their new MTV reality show, Follow The Rules, premiering on October 26th.
