Ja Morant’s Younger Sister Teniya: “Let’s Go Devilettes”
Niya, as she’s known, revealed her decision to play basketball at the HCBU Mississippi Valley State University.
“Let’s go Devilettes,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
In January, she tweeted she received her “first D1 Offer” from the school, adding she was “very thankful” and the hashtag “only up from here.”
“I am extremely blessed to say I have received my first D1 Offer from Mississippi Valley State. Very Thankful! #onlyupfromhere”

Last season, the 5-foot-3 point guard averaged 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game for her high school, according to The Spun.
The 18-year-old younger sister to embattled Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant ultimately led the Mustangs to a 50-29 record.
LSU Tigers’ Angel Reese Responds To Teniya’s Announcement: “See You Game 2”
Niya will almost indeed find herself head-to-head with rival LSU Tigers’ star Angel Reese.
“congrats bby… see you game 2,” Reese replied in response to Niya’s announcement.
According to Essentially Sports, Morant responded to Reese’s comment.
“see you game 2…”
The Devilettes took a 111-41 loss to the Tigers last November. However, Reese and the Tigers eventually went on to win the national championship.
Meanwhile, Niya joins the program in need of some wins after an abysmal 2-27 season last year.
Reese and Morant have publicly shown support for one another before this announcement. Reese has even referred to Morant as her “long lost” sister. Despite their upcoming rivalry, it’s likely the two will remain good friends.

Teniya Morant’s commitment to Mississippi Valley State University arrives amid her brother Ja’s second suspension from the NBA Memphis Grizzlies due to his second scandal of being filmed with a gun, as The Shade Room previously reported.
