J.K. Rowling Isn’t Here For This Australian Newspaper Cartoon Spoof Of Serena Williams

A local newspaper in Australia is receiving a lot of backlash for a tasteless cartoon spoof of the incident that went down with Serena Williams and the umpire at the U.S. Open. One thing is for sure though, artist Mark Knight went way too far with this one.

The cartoon didn’t sit well with J.K. Rowling who tweeted, , “Well done on reducing one of the greatest sportswomen alive to racist and sexist tropes and turning a second great sportswoman into a faceless prop.”

The Herald Sun has yet to comment on the picture so it will be interesting to see how this plays out!
