It’s Lit!! California Senate Passes Bill That Extends Nightlife & Alcohol Sale Hours To 4 A.M.

New York City, we coming for you bihh! California is officially on it’s way to something the state can definitely benefit from–later nightlife hours.

Senate Bill 384, aka the “Let Our Communities Adjust Late Night” (LOCAL) Act allows for alcohol service and bars to remain open until 4 a.m. as opposed to the current 2 a.m. closing time.

Hold your horses though because this bill will not apply to liquor stores.

The good thing about this bill is that it gives businesses the option to continue on with nightlife for those extra two hours, or continue to shut down at 2 a.m. as the new bill is not a requirement.

“California is a diverse state, with cities and neighborhoods that have different needs when it comes to nightlife,” the state senator said in the release. “By granting local control to our cities to extend their late night hours, we can support areas that benefit economically and culturally from a strong nightlife presence, while ensuring that other cities and neighborhoods retain their current rules.”

This new bill will allow California to join other major U.S. cities that allow alcohol service after 2 a.m. such as New York City, Vegas, Chicago, ATL, Miami Beach, and New Orleans.

Are you here for this bill?
