Earlier this week, we were the first to report on a mini vacay that actress/singer, #AdrienneBailon and gospel singer, #IsraelHoughton, were taking together. There was a lot of confusion about the status of Houghton’s marriage to his wife of over 20 years as he claims they’ve divorced, however he still wears his wedding band! For your info, Houghton has only been divorced for about a month, so y’all can stop coming for Miss Bailon!!
Another rumor that surfaced this week was that #JoelOsteen’s Lakewood Church fired him. Church leaders allegedly told Radar Online, “Lakewood Church released Israel Houghton from his responsibilities as a worship leader [in February] and placed him on indefinite leave. Since that time, he has not been featured in any Lakewood Church related activities.”
It turns out that this is totally false! Houghton is just taking a break from his duties at the church for an unspecified amount of time. He actually pointed his fans to an official statement from Lakewood Church which reads:
“We can confirm that Israel is on indefinite leave, but it is important to clarify that we still consider Israel to be a part of the Lakewood family and that his employment has not been terminated.”
