The Real co-host Adrienne Bailon and gospel musician Israel Houghton recently announced that they would be getting married, but it appears as though there are a few lose ends to tie up before their big day. Bossip is exclusively reporting that Houghton is being sued by The Texas State Attorney General’s Child Support Division. He apparently fathered two children outside of his 20-year marriage to Meleasa Houghton and their mother is seeking current and owed child support payments as well as health insurance and medical expenses.
The boys, Kingston (4) and Khristian (2), are currently living with their mother De Vawn Moreno who is listed as a cooperant in the lawsuit. Houghton has already acknowledged that he is the father of 4-year old Kingston by filing an acknowledgment of paternity, but the courts will have to determine whether or not he is the father of 2-year old Khristian. The boy shares Houghton’s last name according to court documents obtained by Bossip.
Bossip:
“The state wants Houghton come up with his tax returns, checking and savings accounts statements, 401K info, proof of health insurance coverage and income history so that the court can figure out how much he owes. And if Houghton doesn’t play ball, the attorney general’s office said it’s not above garnishing the man’s wages to pay for the children’s needs.”
It’s been difficult for the courts to serve the singer, because he has been out of town and won’t return until sometime next month, perhaps after he and Adrienne get hitched. We’ll keep y’all posted on the updates of this story!
