It turns out back in 2020, Isaiah Lee (who goes by the rapper name NoName_Trapper) recorded a song about Dave Chappelle. Isaiah Lee’s song features lyrics that state “laugh at you n***as a joke,” seemingly referencing Dave Chappelle’s stand-up comedy career.
Additionally, the 2020 song called ‘Dave Chappell’ mentions the Hollywood Bowl venue where Isaiah Lee would later go on to attack him as he performed to a sold-out crowd filled with A-list celebrities. The track, from his album ‘Born & Die In The Trap,’ was released on streaming platforms on June 24, 2020—a month after Dave Chappelle was slated to perform at the Hollywood Bowl before it was cancelled due to COVID-19.
As we previously reported, Lee is trending worldwide following his unprovoked attack against Dave Chappelle while he was performing stand-up at the Hollywood Bowl. He has since been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held on $30,000 bond.
Following his arrest, reports surfaced that Lee was carrying a replica gun with a knife hidden inside when he rushed Chappelle on stage. Publicly speaking about the incident to media outlets, Lee’s sister Shawne didn’t want to comment on her brother’s arrest specifically, but instead told reporters that “At this point, we’re trying to find a lawyer for my brother.”
According to the latest reports, Isaiah Lee still remains in jail due to the attack against Dave Chappelle. His first court appearance has yet to be announced.
