Emmy Victor, an African American reporter from Iowa, is being praised for staying calm after a video clip of a white woman throwing racial slurs at her went viral.
Victor, who works for the KCCI TV station was reporting on the death of Michael Disbrowe, who was shot and killed by police in Boone, when a woman who was later identified as the victims mother put her hands on Emmy Victors while making some unforgivable statements.
In the video clip, you can see Victor backing away as the woman yelled, “Get the f**k outta here you stupid f**king n***er” at her.
“Ma’am, ma’am, don’t ever!” Victor said as the woman ignored her and continued doing the most, even knocking over the tripod and cursing at Zachary Hayes, the photojournalist on the assignment with Victor.
Emmy Victor is yet to comment on the incident, however, KCCI General Manager Brian Sather, commended her and Hayes, on their calmness.
Sather said, “The safety of our crews is critically important as they cover stories affecting our communities.” He continued, “This morning Emmy and Zach demonstrated the utmost professionalism in the face of a very difficult, emotionally-charged situation.”
What do you think you would’ve done in this situation Roommates?
