Jay Ellis‘ home with his wife, Nina Senicar, is expanding by one this year! The actor and actress first announced their pregnancy in March. However, in a new interview for his forthcoming memoir, Ellis kept it 100 about how it feels to be a two-time daddy.
As previously reported, Jay Ellis and Nina welcomed their first child and daughter, Nora Grace, in November 2019. He proposed to the Serbian actress and model in January 2019 after five years of dating, but they didn’t get married until July 2022.
The ‘Insecure’ star — known as Lawrence in the wrapped series — is currently on a press tour promoting his memoir, ‘Did Everyone Have An Imaginary Friend (or Just Me?).’ While speaking with PEOPLE, he shared his “terrified” feelings about re-starting fatherhood with his unborn baby.
“One kid was crazy. Two kids, come on, man. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m excited,” he said.
However, to be clear, Jay Ellis isn’t interested in round three for now! He told the outlet that “two is enough.”
“…It’s where it ends. I think I finally achieved some version of calm in my house, and now it’s about to be chaos all over again,” Ellis added.
Despite his nerves about starting over, Jay said he’s prepared for the chaos. He feels blessed to be welcoming another mini-him into the world.
“What is life if we’re not experiencing chaos and figuring out how to navigate it? I get the opportunity to bring another kid into the world and hopefully do something good, do some good, leave them with something good. Hopefully, they get to move through the world with some of the things that I’m able to teach them and do some good themselves,” Ellis revealed.
As mentioned, the couple first brought the baby No. 2 news to social media in March. Nina Senicar shared an Instagram post featuring several side-view photos of her poking baby bump! She wore a tight-fitting, brown jumpsuit to accentuate her growing belly.
It’s unclear when Jay Ellis’ and Nina’s second little one will be done baking! However, the actor’s third baby, aka his memoir, will arrive on bookshelves on July 30.
“There’s so many little things that make us who we are,” Jay told PEOPLE. “I don’t think I really realized how much so many things influenced who I am today until I wrote the book.”
