Lizzo recently reacted to a special ‘South Park’ episode, shading her “body positivity” message and music.
NBC News reports the singer did a side-by-side blind reaction to the episode, ‘The End Of Obesity.’ The 36-year-old responded in classic Lizzo fashion.
The Grammy winner began the video by stating, “Guys, my worst fear has been actualized: I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode. I’m so scared.” She then plays a clip of the commercial within the episode advertising a weight loss drug named after her. It is an affordable alternative to the diet medication Ozempic.
After the cartoon character says, “I’ve controlled all my cravings to be thinner with ‘Lizzo,’ the singer’s jaw drops, and she uses her hand to cover her mouth. Furthermore, her hand remained there for the majority of the video.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, a male voice begins to sing, “O-O-O, it’s Lizzo.” A narrator then says, “FDA-approved Lizzo makes you feel good about your weight.” Additionally, the character says, “I’ve lowered my standards and my expectations.”
“70% of patients on Lizzo no longer cared how much they weighed,” the voiceover continued. “Lizzo helps you eat everything you want and keep physical activity to a minimum. Some patients report constipation while listening to Lizzo. Stop listening to Lizzo if you experience suicidal thoughts.”
Instead of feeding into the shade of it all, the performer took a positive approach.
“That’s crazy. I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b****,” the ‘2 Be Loved’ singer said.
Furthermore, the ‘Exactly How I Feel’ singer commended herself for creating such a strong message that the shoe’s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, took notice.
“I really show the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am…” she said passionately.
In addition, the entertainer highlighted that they featured her message “on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.”
