Ice T knows he plays entirely too much! The rapper turned actor had fans shaking in their boots after he posted that he was robbed at a gas station in New Jersey on Thursday.
The SVU star wrote a paragraph on Twitter explaining that he got GOT while he was pumping gas, and while fans started to send their well wishes, they quickly realized it was just a joke!
“I was robbed at a gas station in NJ last night,” the post read. “After my hands stopped trembling..I managed to call the cops and they were quick to respond and calmed me down…My money is gone..the police asked me if I knew who did it..I said yes..it was pump number 9.”
Ice T might’ve been telling a joke, but people around the country have been expressing that paying for gas feels like they’re being robbed forreal! As we previously reported, the national average price for gas per gallon rose to over $4 in the past few weeks, and has since skyrocketed to record-high figures.
Lawmakers are working to relieve people of the gas burden, but it may not be enough. Ride-share services like Lyft and Uber have even added temporary fuel surcharges to their services due to the rise in prices.
Some states, including California, have proposed rebates to taxpayers to offer relief for all who live in the state. In Cali, the $400 rebate would be paid out to every resident who pays taxes, including those who do not have a car.
What are the gas prices looking like in your city, Roomies?
