‘Honey, I Shrunk The Kids’ Is Getting Rebooted With Original Star Rick Moranis

All these reboots have me feeling like I’m living my childhood and yet in my DJ Khaled voice, here’s “another one!” A “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” reboot is in the works with franchise’s star Rick Moranis, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The classic film’s original director, Joe Johnston, will also return to direct the new film titled “Shrunk.” Josh Gad will reportedly star as Rick Moranis’ son.

For all y’all that are too young to remember the nostalgic film, Rick Moranis starred in the 1989 original as a scientist whose children found one of his experiments in their family’s home and ended up shrinking themselves down to the size of bugs.

The popularity of the first film sparked the 1992 sequel, “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid,” as well as a straight-to-DVD continuation, 1997’s Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. Moranis starred in all three films.

David Hoberman is producing the reboot, with Todd Rosenberg writing the script.

This is a big deal because Moranis hasn’t appeared in a live action film since the franchise’s last film, so basically, they got that man coming out of retirement for this one!

Are y’all here for the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” reboot? Let us know!
