Harvey Weinstein Returns To Bellevue Hospital In New York After Complaining Of Chest Pains Following His 23-Year Prison Sentence

Hours after he was sentenced to 23 years following his conviction for multiple instances of sexual assault, Harvey Weinstein is now facing more issues related to his continuously declining health. According to recent reports, he returned to Bellevue Hospital in New York after complaining of chest pains.

Apparently, the verdict in his highly-publicized sexual assault case was too much for Harvey Weinstein to digest because just a few hours later he found himself once again at Bellevue Hospital because he claimed he was suffering from chest pains.

@HollywoodReporter notes that prison staff at Rikers Island, where Harvey is currently serving his time, decided to transfer him to Bellevue “for safety” where he “was evaluated and likely stayed overnight” for further observation. Earlier this month, Harvey was admitted to Bellevue due to experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure following a heart procedure that had been administered.

As we previously reported, Harvey was sentenced to 23 years in a New York State prison following a ruling by Supreme Court Judge James Burke. He was initially convicted of committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree and third-degree rape on February 24th. His lengthy sentencing officially puts an end to his New York trial, which began on January 6th.

After the sentencing hearing, Harvey’s attorney Donna Ruttuno briefly spoke with the press about the outcome and stated that she was “overcome with anger” at the sentence, which she referred to as “obnoxious” and “obscene.”
