Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently discussed the public’s perception of her personal life and reactions to her social media posts.
PEOPLE reports the 32-year-old got candid on ‘Good Morning America’ on May 30.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, a jury convicted Gypsy for orchestrating the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard, her mother. She enlisted her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to murder her mom. The nationally known case captured the curiosity of millions because of the unusual circumstances. Dee Dee abused her daughter physiologically and physically. Furthermore, she manipulated her to pretend to be chronically ill. Moreover, Gypsy had many surgeries and was prescribed medications for illnesses that she did not have.
During the ‘GMA’ interview, Rose was asked why she shared her personal life with the public. Gypsy stated that she wants to utilize social media like everyone else — even if people view her in a negative light. She told correspondent JuJu Chang, “Quite honestly I’m starting to feel like they want a perfect victim and there is no such thing as a perfect victim.”
“In their mind, the perfect victim would have died.” Rose said before continuing, “And so now that I survived and perpetrator of the abuse is the one that died, then I’m getting the hate.”
Additionally, Rose spoke about the backlash she received for making a Mother’s Day post on TikTok. She reportedly received death threats.
In the since-deleted TikTok video she said, “It does not go without notice that my own biological mother is not here to celebrate Mother’s Day and what I choose to feel on Mother’s Day regarding my own mother is that I think the best of her.”Rose added, “Was she a good mom? No. Was she the best mom in the world? No. But she was still my mom so what I choose to feel about her, whether that be guilt, anger, grief, resentment whatever. That’s mine to feel.”
The Shade Room previously reported she is currently divorcing her husband, Ryan Anderson, and now rekindling her romance with ex-fiance Ken Urker.
