Over the weekend, Gunplay — a 44-year-old rapper who starred on Love & Hip Hop: Miami — was taken into custody and charged with false imprisonment, child abuse, and assault with a deadly weapon.
In the aftermath of the situation, his wife, Vonshae Taylor, is speaking out and confirming that she’s calling it quits.
Gunplay Is Accused Of Brandishing A Weapon During An Xbox-Related Incident
According to Fox Sports personality Andy Slater, the situation was allegedly sparked after Gunplay’s partner “told him to quiet down while playing Xbox.”
In turn, the rapper is “accused of pointing a rifle at his wife while she was holding their 6-month-old baby.”
Despite the jarring accusations against him, Gunplay allegedly “denies it all.”
The domestic violence-related charges against Gunplay were confirmed through arrest records. He was taken into custody in the early hours of Sunday (Aug. 20), and his bond was set at $20,000.

Vonshae Taylor Provides More Details Through Social Media
Shortly after the news broke, Vonshae acknowledged the matter in an Instagram post.
The upload consisted of a screenshotted message from her Notes app, and she confirmed that she and her daughter are “safe.”
Vonshae also attributed the overall issue to Gunplay allegedly “using again,” and she specified that he “developed a very bad drinking problem.”
While she acknowledged trying “everything” to help Gunplay, Vonshae declared, “At this point, I really believe it’s too late.”
She went on to confirm that the ordeal unfolded after she requested that Gunplay “quiet down” while playing Call of Duty. Although Vonshae said she wanted to take their baby to another room, Gunplay objected, and “things went left fast.”
As a result, she called the authorities. Vonshae also secured a restraining order and is “filing for divorce.”
“He was arrested last night, the weapon is in police custody. I have a restraining order, my daughter is in my custody and I am filing for divorce. He will never get the chance to disrespect us again.”
