In a video sent to us, you can see an elderly woman, Ms. Maebaline, who also suffers from dementia, absolutely adore herself and a new look.
Dressed in a black motorcycle jacket and houndstooth print pants, she was smiling from ear-to-ear, throwing her new lace front back, with all the joy in the world.
Below, you can hear Mrs. Maebaline saying to herself in the mirror, “Girl, you look good! Who are you? I like her. How you doing?
She continued,
“Oh, I like this. I like the whole get up.”
When her granddaughter, Karla Blair, reminded her she dressed herself, Ms. Maebaline replied, “Did I?”
This is just another reminder to cherish every moment we share with our loved ones. With all of the uncertainty we have surrounding our current pandemic, it’s refreshing to see positive news.
According to Alz.org, Dementia is an overall term for diseases and conditions characterized by a decline in memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking skills that affect a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Memory loss is an example. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia.
Dementia is caused by damage to brain cells. This damage interferes with the ability of brain cells to communicate with each other. When brain cells cannot communicate normally, thinking, behavior and feelings can be affected. The brain has many distinct regions, each of which is responsible for different functions (for example, memory, judgment and movement). When cells in a particular region are damaged, that region cannot carry out its functions normally.”
