Governor Greg Abbott Identifies Deceased Suspect In Texas Elementary School Shooting As 18-Year-Old Salvador Ramos (Update)

More news has become available on the suspect responsible for the deadly Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas. According to ABC News, Governor Greg Abbott has identified the suspect as 18-year-old deceased suspect Salvador Ramos. During an unrelated press briefing, Governor Abbott spoke about the Uvalde High School student, stating, “He shot and killed horrifically and incomprehensibly 14 students and killed a teacher.”

Governor Abbott continued speaking on the tragedy stating, “What happened in Uvalde is a horrific tragedy that cannot be tolerated in the state of Texas. There is swift action being taken by local law enforcement. It’s believed that responding officers killed him,” he said. “It appears that two responding officers were struck by rounds but have no serious injuries.”

In addition, to the lives claimed at the elementary school, the Governor also stated Salvador also allegedly shot his grandmother before entering the school and opening fire. As we reported earlier, several injured individuals following the shooting have been transferred to the local hospitals.

 

 

CNN reports that two victims, a critically injured 10-year-old girl, and a 66-year-old woman, are being treated at University Health System in San Antonio, TX. The hospital announced via Facebook, “We have received two patients from the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. One patient is a 66-year-old woman. The other patient is a 10-year-old girl. Both patients are in critical condition.” The post continued, “Our hearts are breaking for the people impacted by this senseless tragedy. Our thoughts are with the patients, families, students, teachers, and the people of this community.”
