Disgraced Good Morning America co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are “still together” despite the whirlwind fallout from their alleged workplace affair, but “wouldn’t dare be caught together now” as ABC makes it’s final decision on the pair’s fate an insider says.
Sources told E! News that the “Good Morning America 3” anchors, who are at the center of an internal investigation at ABC, are “still very much together.”
Although the couple’s romance is still apparently going strong, the Daily Mail reported earlier this week that they have been trying to keep their distance from one another as the network works to sort their fates out.
“They wouldn’t dare be caught together now, not while ABC is making a decision,” an insider shared.
The source went on to say that “their marriages are over, but they have children to think about and they don’t want to jeopardize their futures with the network any more than they already have.”
The decision to keep a low profile comes after ABC News president Kim Godwin announced the two would be relieved on their on-air duties, with the rest of the staff remaining “upset” over the media scrutiny the affair has caused.
“It is my hope that we will continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism,” she wrote in the email obtained by Page Six.
While Godwin previously claimed their relationship was “not a violation of company police,” the suspension was handed down after the outlet revealed Holmes had sexual relationships with at least two other GMA staffers, The Shade Room previously reported.
“It’s one thing for him to have a relationship with another anchor,” an insider told Page Six. “The question is whether he violated company rules by dating less senior employees.”
Robach and Holmes’ reportedly started getting intimate together after the two began training for the New York City Half Marathon back in March.
They were both still married to other people at the time, but both have since left their respective spouses over the summer.
Robach’s divorce from Andrew Shue is almost finalized, however Holmes’ wife, Marilee Fiebig, was “blindsided” by the news of the affair and viewed Robach as a friend.
An insider told the outlet that Holmes and Fiebig were working on fixing their marriage after he was caught having an affair with “GMA” producer Natasha Singh when news of his tryst with Robach broke.
