#GetOut is nominated for four #Oscars this year, but you won’t be seeing actor #LilRel at the awards ceremony. He stopped by #JimmyKimmel on Friday where he revealed that he wasn’t invited despite his character playing a pivotal role in ‘Get Out.’
When asked if he was attending, Rel told the talk host, “Well, I thought I was. You know, we called today looking for my ticket. And they were like, ‘You’re not in the first group,’ ” Howery revealed. “So, the first tickets that they give out, I’m not on that list.” Rel then went on to compare how there were “like 20 people on stage” who accepted awards for #LaLaLand and #Moonlight last year. “So they get extra tickets,” he said.
Thankfully, Kimmel is hosting the Oscars and said he’s got him. “Listen, I’ll get you in, don’t worry — I’m the host of it. You had a big part in that movie. It’s not like you had a little scene,” he said.
A source also told #HollywoodReporter that the nominees are the only people with confirmed tickets for the show. Next week the academy will begin reviewing requests for additional tickets.
