Gervonta Davis made headlines recently after he was spotted on video grabbing his baby mama Dretta out of a basketball game that took place in Miami during Super Bowl Weekend. As the video continued to make its rounds, law enforcement eventually became involved.
As we previously reported, Gervonta turned himself into Coral Gables police and he was charged with simple battery domestic violence in the incident. He was later ordered to stay away from his baby mama until the case has come to an end.
On Thursday, Gervonta made his first post on social media since the incident. He took to his Snapchat account and said, “Be careful with the decision you make.., one mistake can mess up everything…I’m learning.”
It was reported that police reportedly obtained surveillance footage that shows Gervonta allegedly hitting his baby mama in the face. Dretta has not made a statement since the incident occurred over the weekend, and she has also been absent from her social media accounts.
Prior to his arrest, Gervonta made a statement on his Instagram account acknowledging his wrongs but vowed he never hit Dretta. At the time he said, “I never once hit her..yea I was aggressive and told her to come on..that’s the mother of my child…I would never hurt her other than that happy new year…January was trash.”
We’ll continue to keep you updated as things develop.
