Roommates, George Zimmerman is not trying to let go of the tragedy that he caused back in 2013, and his lawyer Larry Klayman is right behind him.
According to a press release from his attorney, George is planning to sue Trayvon Martin’s family, as well as the Florida prosecutors involved in his 2013 murder trial. He is apparently seeking $100 million.
The press release states that George believes the prosecutions key witness and friend of Trayvon’s, Rachel Jeantel, was an “imposter” and “fake witness”. The lawsuit also alleges the Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump defamed George’s name.
The lawsuit alleges Benjamin Crump provided the court with audio of Trayvon’s girlfriend, Diamond Eugene, who was said to be on the phone with Trayvon during the time of the incident. However, two weeks later, George’s attorney says Rachel Jeantel was presented as the witness in court, and the prosecution claimed she was Trayvon’s girlfriend.
George and his lawyer came to this conclusion that based n Trayvon’s cell phone records, Rachel Jeantel was not Trayvon’s girlfriend, was not on the phone with Trayvon before he was killed, and that she repeatedly lied to cause Zimmerman’s arrest and attempt to send him to prison for life.
“The research also allegedly reveals that Trayvon’s real girlfriend and legitimate phone witness was in fact Miami resident Brittany Diamond Eugene, who was switched out for Jeantel when Eugene refused to bear false witness against Zimmerman,” the press release states.
As we previously reported, George Zimmerman was on trial back in 2013 for the murder of Trayvon Martin. He was facing a life sentences, and his lawyer claims he had been wrongly convicted.
“Based on the alleged false evidence, George is suing for damages n excess of $100 million.”
Since being acquitted, George has gotten himself in all sorts of trouble, including being removed from Tinder for using a fake profile to get dates.
