FX’s ‘Pose’ A Hit Among Viewers As It Educates On The LGBTQIA Community & Celebrates NYC Ballroom Culture

Okay, can we talk about how epic #PoseFX was on Monday?!

For those of you who are late to the party, “Pose” is a new show on FX that was co-created by #RyanMurphy—the mastermind behind some of the most forward-thinking shows of our generation such as #Glee, #AmericanHorrorStory and #NipTuck.

“Pose” is Murphy’s final series for FX and he’s going out with a sickening death drop! The show focuses in on ballroom culture in 1980’s NYC while also chronicling the lives of five very different trans women. Its cast has made history by having the highest number of transgender actors in series-regular roles which is a big stride for the transgender community.

“Despite the fact that we definitely have more LGBTQ content now than we did even five years ago, at the end of the day I would say we’re still lacking in representation,” co-creator Steven Canals tells @TheRinger.

“More often than not, there’s only ever enough for one gay character, or one trans character. Here, you have five [trans] characters who are all uniquely different and have their own journeys, their own arcs. It’s not lost on me, though, that we’ve had to go through several painstaking years of progress to get to the point where we can now have and celebrate five very different trans women on one show.”

“Pose” instantly attracted a cult following so check out some of the reactions below:

If you have LGBTQ friends and have never seen Paris Is Burning then stop what you’re doing and watch it down below! ‘Pose’ is sort of a scripted version of the documentary! Get your livesssss
