Roommates, we are still praying for DMX‘s recovery at this time, and many of his peers and fans are doing the same. We have seen so many messages of well-wishes for the rapper in the last few days, which Funk Fllex says should have been more prominent prior to his hospitalization.
While speaking with Page Six, Funk Flex says that more people should have offered DMX a helping hand before he suffered a heart attack and ended up in the hospital. He says that DMX’s friends in the music industry could’ve done more than just posting pictures, especially because his peers were well aware of his struggles with substance abuse.
“People can find the picture that they had with the person that’s going through tragedy in 30 seconds,” Flex said. “But you haven’t called that person in 10 years.”
He went on to explain that being part of the music industry is often very lonely, despite having so many people around you who know what you are going through. Flex said that he is frustrated by the lack of support that DMX has received over the years.
“The music business is a gorilla. It’s a bottomless put of happiness and depression, ” Flex said. “I don’t wanna say people don’t help you but I do want to say there are people who actually know [when a star is struggling, but don’t help] sometimes.”
He continued to explain that DMX’s trauma has been very public and it hasn’t been an easy journey for him.
“You don’t always get the best help when money is being made,” Funk Flex said. “It’s rough for someone like a DMX who may be in a mental and emotional state of childhood trauma that has happened to him and then being thrown into money and fame.”
As use previously reported, DMX is in critical condition after suffering a heart attack triggered by a drug overdose on Friday. Please continue keep him and his loved ones in your prayers at this time.
