Issa Blessing! Four-Month-Old Baby Found Alive After Tornado Destroyed Family Home

A four-month-old baby is recovering from his injuries after a tornado ripped through his family home in Tennessee.

The child, named Lord, was sleeping in his bassinet when the deadly tornado ripped the roof off of their mobile home. His mother, Sydney Moore, told WSMV-TV that the winds lifted the baby’s bassinet into the air as his father grabbed it. Moore says her partner, Aramis Youngblood, recalls them spinning inside the twister.

“He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown.”

Lord was “the first thing to go up,” Sydney said. The couple searched for the baby for about 10 minutes before locating him. Despite Moore thinking “he was dead,” the infant had survived and was lying inside a fallen tree as rain fell on the family. Moore says Lord is “here” by the “grace of God.”

Social Media Reacts To Baby Being Found Safe After Tornado

Plenty of folks on social media seemed to agree with Sydney. After The Shade Room shared the miraculous story on Instagram, the Roomies chimed in with kind words and prayers for the family. Within 24 hours, the repost racked up nearly half a million likes and more than 16,000 comments.

Toddler Brother Also Survives Tornado

The tornado was equally terrifying for the couple’s one-year-old son, Princeton, as it was for their baby. When the twister first approached their home, Moore and her toddler were chilling in the trailer’s backroom. After peeping the strong winds outside, she instinctively covered her toddler with her body — likely saving his life.

“Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son,” Sydney told WSMV-TV. “Literally the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed.”

The tornado destroyed the family’s trailer, crushing Sydney and her toddler under the debris. But, the mother of two tapped into that mama bear energy and dug them out. They reportedly suffered minor injuries, including scratches and bruises.

Meanwhile, Youngblood reportedly had a dislocated collarbone, and the baby suffered a gash on his face that required medical treatment.

According to CBS News, six people died as a result of Saturday’s twister, including a 2-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy from separate households.
