A former employee is suing Versace after they fired him after two weeks.
According to TMZ, the man worked in the company’s Bay Area store. He claims in his lawsuit that the company allegedly uses a code called “D410,” which was casually used to let co-workers know that an African American customer was present. The suit claims that is code for all black shirts in Versace stores.
The former employee said that he was so shocked that he once responded to his boss and said, “You know that I’m African-American?”
In the lawsuit he also claims that they refused to give him any breaks and fired him after only two weeks.
He also claims that they fired him because he hadn’t “lived the luxury life.”
The former employee is now suing them for unpaid wages and damages.
Versace has responded to the allegations and they have completely denied them, and have already filed a request to dismiss the suit.
