Earlier this month, Kemah Siverand made headlines after it was revealed that he had been cut from the Seattle Seahawks. Things got a little more interesting when it was revealed that he was cut from the team after he attempted to sneak a woman into the team’s hotel.
As we previously reported, his actions were caught on video and he reportedly had the woman dressed is Seahawks gear as he tried to disguise her as one of the other players.
Now Kemah is finally speaking out about the incident and issuing an apology for his actions.
In a statement posted to his official Instagram account he said, “After taking time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I have tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all of those affected by my poor decision and immaturity.”
He acknowledged that he has already privately apologized to the Seahawks organization, Coach Pete Carroll, and the team’s general manager John Schneider.
Kemah continued, “I violated team rules, which would be unacceptable in normal times, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic. I understand my lapse in judgment not only put myself at risk but also my teammates and the organization at risk, thankfully no one else was affected by my actions.”
He continued to state that he would continue to train harder than ever as he works to continue to achieve his dream of playing in the NFL.
