Robert Eddins, a former player in the NFL was one of two victims that was found shot death inside of his home in Detroit on Tuesday.
According to Fox News, when the two bodies were discovered inside of the home, the gas stove was left on. Leaving investigators to conclude that whomever committed the crime tried to cover up their tracks.
It also led them to believe that the victims may have known the suspect, as they did not find any signs of forced entry.
The other victim was later identified as Ricky McFarland.
Capt. Kurt Worboys of the Detroit police said, “There’s at least one if not more individuals that just committed a double murder.”
Eddins’ father went to go check up on him when he discovered the two bodies. His mother Bridget Eddins said, “He played pro football. We are all proud of him. But it is what it is. We don’t know what happened.”
Eddins played for the Buffalo Bills back in 2011.
The house was described as in good shape except for one room that looked to be tossed, so whomever committed the crime could have been looking for something.
Bridget Eddins also said, “I know one thing, whoever did it, he wasn’t going out like that. He probably told them to give me your best shot that’s how he was.”
Both bodies were found in a “ransacked room.”
We send our condolences to both victims families.
