Saturday morning local Houston police officers received a phone call that former Miami Dolphins linebacker, Antonio Armstrong and his wife, Dawn Armstrong, were fatally shot by their 16-year-old son.
According to the New York Daily News, the teenager confessed to police around 1:30am, and once authorities arrived they found a gun with a note that read, “I’ve been watching you.”
Antonio Armstrong was in critical condition once authorities arrived and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Dawn Armstrong was pronounced dead at the scene in the couples bedroom.
The motive behind the shooting is still unknown, but the couple had two other children in the home at the time of the shooting. A 20-year-old son and a teenage daughter that remained unharmed.
Vaun Lee, the cousin Dawn Armstrong said, “There was nothing that even could possibly have justified this situation. This doesn’t even make sense. It makes no sense.”
