Former Atlanta Mayor Keshia Lance Bottoms says she was refused service at a restaurant inside of the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, suburb of Atlanta, GA.
On Friday, the former city leader took to Twitter and stated while attempting to eat at the Capital Grille, the restaurant allegedly turned her away for wearing leggings.
I was just turned away at @CapitalGrille at Perimeter Mall because I have on leggings.
Bottoms went on to say she saw another woman with similar clothing go into the restaurant but did not see her get turned away.
Rules are the rules. I just wonder if the woman who came in after me, in similar attire, who I did not see come back out, was also denied service.
Stating that she was a bit confused about the attire, the 52-year-old also shared she asked to sit at the bar.
Asked if I could sit in the bar area and was told, ‘No.’
On Capital Grille’s website, the restaurant does explain their dress policy.
For the comfort of all guests and to better deliver on our promise of a refined atmosphere, proper dress is required. Thank you for not wearing: gym attire, sweatpants, tank tops, hats, clothing with offensive language or images, exposed undergarments.
As you know, Bottoms entered office in 2018 and announced in 2021 that she wouldn’t seek re-election. Keshia Lance Bottoms is now a CNN commentator.
Capital Grille has not commented on the situation at this time.
Roomies, what y’all think about this?
