Here’s What Allegedly Happened
According to Fox 35 Orlando, Ross and her 25-year-old boyfriend allegedly got into an argument at their home. The outlet adds that things turned physical when Ross allegedly knocked the man to the ground. To note, the 25-year-old’s identity has not been publicly revealed.
Fox 35 Orlando reports that the man exited their home, hoping to calm down. However, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd reportedly told the outlet that “in the process of calming down,” the man threw “a cinder block onto her vehicle.”
ABC7 WWSB adds that Ross got into her vehicle with a 4-year-old boy and a 6-month-old. At that point, the man allegedly picked up a 16-month-old and began to run away from Ross’s vehicle. The outlet did not explicitly state whether all of the children were shared between her and her boyfriend.
Ross ultimately ran over the man and the 16-month-old before reportedly colliding with a trailer.
According to ABC7 WWSB, Ross told authorities that there had been “several” instances where she acted as if she was going to run over her boyfriend. Usually, she would “swerve” out of the way to avoid hitting him. In this instance, Ross allegedly thought “he would have moved out of the way.”
“Well, she said this, ‘I guess he didn’t get out of the way,'” Polk County Sheriff Judd told Fox 35 Orlando.
How Are The Victims Are Doing?
ABC7 WWSB reports that the 25-year-old man was treated and released from a hospital. The man reportedly is suffering from bruises to his “body and lungs.” Meanwhile, the 16-month-old has reportedly remained hospitalized.
The outlet adds that the infant has suffered “a broken left shoulder collar bone, multiple broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung, and abrasions and bruising on his body.”
Furthermore, the Florida Department of Children and Families is reportedly evaluating a custody plan for the 6-month-old and 4-year-old.
“Aaliyah Ross made a series of incredibly unthinkable choices Monday: running over a man and a baby with a car, leaving the baby alone, and failing to get medical treatment for the obviously injured baby. Someone who does this to a baby will do this to anyone — her uncontrollable rage is a threat to the public,” Sheriff Judd reportedly stated, per ABC7 WWSB.
Lastly, the outlet notes that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
