Some people will do anything to get of trouble with their significant other, but this sheriff took things a little too far, and is now facing criminal charges, y’all!
According to The Washington Post, Florida Sheriff Darryl Daniels called his deputy fo back-up, claiming he was being followed by a stalker in a Jeep and was in great danger. Turns out, the “stalker” was his mistress, and it was all a set up!
Darryl reportedly called his mistress, Cierra Smith, to meet at their usual spot after confessing his affair to his wife. And with his wife filming the whole thing, Darryl called for her to be arrested.
Cierra was a former employee of Darryl’s and the two had been reportedly engaging in the affair for about six years. After Darryl pulled that whole stunt, his wife filed for divorce, and Cierra resigned from her job.
But get this y’all, Darryl is up for reelection and he is not trying to let this lil’ run-in with the law get in the way of his potential win.
During a press conference, Darryl insists that he is innocent and is refusing to resign from his position or drop out of the race.
“I want you to look past the smokescreen of dirty politics,” he said. “One thing I take ownership of as a man is my failures as a husband. That has nothing to do with me as a sheriff.”
ION know about y’all, but it sounds like this man needs to focus on putting his life together as opposed to trying to save others!
