Here’s What’s Being Reported About The Return Of ‘Flavor Of Love’
According to an exclusive report published by Deadline on Tuesday, April 2, the production company 51 Minds is “plotting a comeback” for the former competitive dating series.
The outlet notes that ‘Flavor of Love’ aired on VH1 for three seasons between 2006-2008. Now, producers would like to “reimagine” the hit show based on how love “can feel like in this in this decade.”
Additionally, it’s been revealed that Flavor Flav will have a hand in the rebooted series.
“We’re in the process of working with Flavor Flav to reimagine what Flavor of Love can feel like in this in this decade, which is very different. The project is really fun, a comedy in the dating space,” Julie Pizzi, President of Bunim/Murray Productions and 51 Minds, told Deadline.
However, the outlet notes that this time around, Flav will not be the lucky bachelor on the show. Instead, the rapper will solely be a part of the production process.
At this time, it appears the upcoming reboot has yet to receive an air date.
“We have such a deep relationship with Paramount, so we will absolutely take it to them first, but we will also shop it around,” Pizzi told the outlet, seemingly referring to the company’s plans to secure a distribution deal for the series.
Flavor Flav Reunited With THIS Cast Member
As The Shade Room previously reported, Flavor Flav — and social media users — were in for a big surprise when he appeared at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball Detroit in December 2023.
After hitting the stage alongside Flo Rida, Flav was greeted by Hoopz, the season one winner of ‘Flavor of Love.’
“FLAVOR FLAV::: Nothin but all the Flavors of Love for my girl HOOPZ @therealhoopz Ya never know who ya gunna run into backstage at Jingle Ball,” Flav wrote while sharing a video of their reunion via Instagram.
According to TMZ, the pair’s reunion was the first time they had seen one another in “years.”
Social Media Went Wild
At the time, social media users shared their reactions to the pair’s reunion in The Shade Room’s comment section. Many referred to ‘Flavor of Love’ and the 2000s decade as the “golden” era of reality TV.
While Instagram user @drmilhouse added, “This was reality TV GOLD!!!!!!! I’ll still rewatch every episode.”
“I heard a few rumors going around that they were trying to get a few of the girls together and things like that. But they’ve been teasing that for years. It’s like, come on, let’s do it,” Pollard explained. “You never know. Maybe 2024 is the year to make it really happen this time. [I] would be there front and center. I’d be the first one to move into the house.”
