Roommates, Fetty Wap and his estranged wife Leandra Gonzalez jumped the broom pretty quickly, and they got divorced even quicker! We’ve reported on their failed nuptials before, and things have been quite messy. From cheating allegations to abuse claims, it’s safe to say the two are ready for this marriage to be done with.
Leandra, however, is not about to leave this relationship without more than she came in with, and she is reportedly seeking the $60k engagement ring that Fetty gave her in the settlement. According to TMZ, Leandra filed documents asking a judge to order Fetty to hand over the rock…or else!
The documents state that if Fetty doesn’t hand over the ring, he will owe Gonzalez the appraised value of the engagement ring, which is $37k. Gonzalez is arguing that the ring is hers to keep because they went through with the marriage–an argument that is valid under a law called “gift in contemplation of marriage.”
There’s just one little problem, Roomies. Fetty claims he never actually owned the ring! TMZ reports that Fetty claims he bought the ring on consignment from the jeweler and never paid for it. Once the two decided to part ways, Fetty says he gave the ring back to the jeweler.
As we’ve previously reported, Leandra and Fetty’s relationship has been pretty tumultuous from the start. Gonzalez spoke with us exclusively, and revealed that she had been contemplating divorce since the first week of their marriage.
She also alleged that Fetty physically abused her, and made allegations about alcoholism throughout their relationship.
Now, Fetty has definitely moved on from this failed marriage, Roomies, as we’ve seen him boo’d up with his new lady on social media. They recently celebrated her birthday together as well.
