It’s official: Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in prison on federal drug trafficking charges.
The Rapper Received One Year More Than The Mandatory Minimum Sentence
According to TMZ, the decision came down on Wednesday (May 24) and ended up being one year longer than the mandatory minimum sentence. Additionally, as prosecutors reportedly requested between seven and nine years, the judge appears to have split the matter right down the middle.
It’s also important to add that the artist was sentenced to five years of supervision following his release, per a U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York who spoke with TMZ.
Fetty Wap hasn’t publicly commented on his sentencing.

Fetty Wap Pleaded Guilty & Later Declared He’ll “Never Fold”
The “Trap Queen” rapper was initially arrested in October 2021, and authorities said Fetty “transported, distributed and sold more than 100 kilograms of deadly and addictive drugs.”
He was eventually released on bond. However, in August 2022, he landed in more legal trouble after allegedly pointing a gun at someone via FaceTime.

That same month, he pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge. However, the New York Post pointed out that the rapper’s attorney declared Fetty was “not cooperating” with authorities.
“He’s not cooperating [with federal authorities]. I want that to be very, very clear. This is a standard plea.”
While awaiting his sentencing, Fetty Wap acknowledged supporters in an audio clip. He specifically thanked them for showing love and keeping him in high spirits. After all, it turns out he had people keeping him entertained by sending him social media reels and stories.
“I just want to thank all the fans…All the fans showing me love, sending all the reels and the stories and everything.”
After noting that he’s “got [his] head up always” and will “never fold,” the 31-year-old shared, “I love y’all. Thank y’all for everything.”
