#Roommates, the runways can certainly be dramatic at #NewYorkFashionWeek but fans are saying there was unspoken drama behind the scenes.
Did noted fashion designer #MarcJacobs try to come for #Rihanna for taking his place as the closer of #NYFW? The fans seem to think so.
NYFW regulars know that traditionally Marc Jacobs’ 6 p.m. show is always last and closes out the entire week. That is until this year when Rihanna debuted her #SavageXFenty lingerie at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, making her technically the closer.
Jacobs has not publicly addressed the schedule changes but fans say it was clear he wanted to be petty because he started his show about an hour and 30 minutes late, which according to attendees is very unusual for him.
Jacobs is known to start his show on time and famous for it because very few designers at NYFW actually do. Fans speculate that Jacobs started late to try to take the crowds away from Riri’s show, especially considering many had invites to both.
The Daily Beast reported that a “noticeable” number of guests had to leave, which meant basically skipping Jacobs’ show to make it to Rihanna’s on time.
There are reports that Jacobs’ staff blamed the delay on a late clothing delivery, but Jacobs has not officially confirmed that. Rihanna also has not publicly commented on the matter.
#Roommates, what are your thoughts on this? Let us know!
