As we have previously reported, Facebook CEO #MarkZuckerberg apologized last week for the #CambridgeAnalytica data breach. The personal info of more than 50 Million people was accessed by a voter-profiling site called ‘Cambridge Analytica’ which claims to have gotten #DonaldTrump elected.
Earlier this month, @CNN asked Zuckerberg whether or not he would testify in Congress on the situation and he said yes. It looks like he’s making good on his word, because he is set to appear before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on April 12th!
He’s being called to appear, because the committee is seeking information about the way in which Facebook dealt with ‘Cambridge Analytica’ after the company was suspended this month. The Senate Judiciary Committee has also called him to testify, however he declined to appear before a UK parliamentary committee where a similar investigation is underway.
According to reports, Zuckerberg received pressure to agree to testify and now it seems that there is pressure on Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to testify as well. All three men have been invited to appear before a Senate judiciary on April 10th.
Roommates, this is some Scandal ish ????????
