Rex Tillerson, CEO of gas corporation ExxonMobil may be taking his talents to the White House this January. According to The Washington Post, two sources claim that Donald Trump will most likely choose him to serve as his Secretary of State.
One of the biggest arguments surrounding Donald Trump being president-elect is that he has no political experience–one counter argument is that he is a business man and so it’s fitting that he is giving another non politically-experienced, but well versed in business candidate a chance.
Tillerson gained his position over running mates Mitt Romney (former Massachusetts Governor & Republican Presidential nominee) and Rudolph W. Giuliani (former New York mayor)–two very experienced candidates. The decision to pick Tillerson over Romney, bother reputable businessmen, came down to reputation. Trump’s people felt that Romney had already taken a political beating after his attempted run for candidacy.
