Estèe Lauder Fires Senior Executive For Posting Offensive Meme Referencing Chingy, Rapper Says He’s Not Offended

Chile Chingy may have music that we talk about often, but his name wasn’t trending on Monday for that reason.. According to CNN, an Estèe Lauder senior executive posted an offensive meme referencing the rapper and was fired.

John Demsey, who has been with the company for 30 years, posted a meme that mentioned the rapper and the Coronavirus illustrated as a Sesame Street. book cover. The Instagram post read, ” My n***a Snuffy done got the ‘rona at a Chingy concert.”


On Monday, the company stated that his termination was the “result of his recent Instagram posts, which do not reflect the values of the Estée Lauder Companies.”

Demsey later deleted the post and apologized, saying he was “terribly sorry and deeply ashamed.” He also said he didn’t read the “racist meme” before posting it.

Chingy got wind that he was trending and posted a video a little over one-minute speaking about the situation. He stated he wasn’t offended by the meme, and that he was enjoying time with his baby girl.

Chingy asked in part, “Y’all wanna know what I’m doing, while everybody’s gossiping, talking ’bout I’m trending around the world?” Chingy also stated he think it was a “mistake the man made.” He continued, “Peace and love to that brother. I didn’t take it no type of way.”
