The news about Ukraine and Russia shows what is going on to people attempting to flee the country. Several people have called out Russian President Vladimir Putin for his antics with such unrest. Today, Elon Musk was trending after he hopped on Twitter to call out Vladimir Putin. According to the NY Post, the tweet read, “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine.”
Although the message was hard to read because it wasn’t in English, let me break it down. “Vladimir Putin” and “Ukraine” were written in Cyrillic letters used in Russian and Ukrainian. He ended his messages by asking Putin, “Do you agree to this fight?” Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos wasn’t feeling Elon’s message and clapped back in a tweet of his own. “You, little devil, are still young.”
Rogozin added: “Compete with me weakling; it would only be a waste of time. Overtake my brother first.” Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, also responded to Elon tweeting, “I am sure that @elonmusk can send Putin to Jupiter.” He made an additional tweet showing a meme with Putin inside a spaceship with the words, “Send Putin to Jupiter.” The meme linked to a website where donations were accepted to go towards can Ukraine’s defense efforts.
Aside from Elon calling out Putin, the headlines continue to show the devasting amid the ongoing issues. As we reported yesterday multiple reports confirmed, award-winning journalist Brent Renaud has passed away after being killed by Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Irpin. Another American journalist, Juan Arredondo was shot and wounded. However, he is stable. He details what happened before Brent’s passing. Our thoughts are with Brent’s loved ones at this time. Roommates we will continue to keep you update.
