Dwyane Wade Shares His Plans For A Potential Nail Care Line
On Wednesday, July 10, CBS Mornings published a clip from their recent sit down with the former pro baller on TikTok. The video begins with the interviewer asking Wade to show the camera his nails.
“Don’t get a close-up of my nails,” Wade replied abashedly before briefly lifting his hands. “Listen, I’ve been on the road…”
At that point, the interviewer asked Wade what prompted him to begin polishing his nails. The basketball player replied with one word, “Expression.”
“You know, I’m creative. I’m expressive, and there’s so many ways to do that,” Wade added.
Before their discussion on the topic concluded, Wade revealed that he’s “thinking about jumping into the nail [care] line world.”
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it… I’ve been in it so long, and I’m like, ‘You know what, it could be a good time.’ But I got some cool ideas that I’m exploring,” Wade said.

Here’s What The Former Pro Baller Has Shared About His Interest In Nail Care
Earlier this year, Wade sat down for an exclusive interview with Highsnobiety. During his conversation with the outlet, the 42-year-old explained that he’s been painting his nails since 2007, per US Weekly.
“Iβve been getting my nails painted since 2007,” he reportedly explained. “I always knew thatβs what I wanted to do: I wanted to be one of them sharp-dressed men who smelled good, who stayed clean-shaved, and all that.”
According to the outlet, Wade candidly spoke about fellow NBA player LeBron James’ reaction to his interest in nail care. Wade reportedly opened up about it in a 2011 interview with GQ.
βThree years ago, I was like, ‘Man, I kind of want to paint my toenails black,'” Wade recalled to the outlet. “Later, I was on vacation in the Bahamas with LeBron, and when he saw my toes, he was like, ‘Something is seriously wrong with you.'”
Wade ultimately explained that James later came around to the idea. However, he added that he eventually became less concerned about other people’s opinions.
“But eventually Bron was like, ‘You know what? You’re crazy, but that’s just you,'” Wade continued. “When I first got into the league, I tried to fit in. Now I don’t care.”
