Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya Wade, officially made her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday and her father could not be more proud.
According to TMZ, Zaya Wade strutted her stuff down the runway at Miu Miu’s fashion show on Tuesday. Wade donned a forest green wool ensemble which consisted of a sweater, blazer, and skirt paired with brown heels.
NBA player Dwyane Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union, Zaya Wade’s stepmother, attended the show on Tuesday and reportedly had a front-row seat. The basketball player reposted a few videos to his story, taken by Zaya’s stylist Thomas Christos, and added that he was “proud” of his daughter.
Additionally, Wade posted a video of him and Zaya lovingly embracing after the show. His bright grin was on full display.
Afterward, Dwyane Wade reposted another video to his Instagram Story, one from Vogue Magazine of Zaya walking down the runway. He added a short caption.
I’m not crying, you are.
Additionally, Dwyane Wade even took to his Twitter account to share a photo of himself, Zaya, and Gabrielle Union. He sweetly captioned the post:
Just an icon living. Zaya’s @MIUMIUofficialdebut
Gabrielle Union retweeted the post and added that Zaya Wade “cleared” the runway with her skills.
Zaya Wade’s Miu Miu debut is the first major appearance the 15-year-old has had since a judge granted her a “legal name change and assignment of gender” last month.
According to PEOPLE, Zaya Wade’s legal name is now Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade, from the previous Zion Malachi Airamis Wade. The judge also granted the approval for Wade’s “legal transition that would allow her sex markers on documents to match her gender identity.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Dwyane Wade filed a petition in August of last year, asking for a Los Angeles court to grant Zaya the name change and new gender recognition. Both Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, have been supportive of Zaya since the teen came “out as transgender” in 2020, as reported by PEOPLE.
