Throughout the last few weeks, R&B duo DVSN has been heavily promoting their just-released new song and although that it’s been less than 24 hours since it dropped, the Internet is still in a complete chokehold. ‘If I Get Caught’ is the new “toxic” anthem from DVSN and based on initial reactions, it’s sure to have men and women battling it out due to the song’s lyrics.
With production and writing credits from Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox along with a Jay-Z sample, DVSN are back with a vengeance courtesy of their new track ‘If I Get Caught.’ Sampling the classic Jay-Z hit ‘Song Cry,’ ‘If I Get Caught’ is unsurprisingly all about cheating.
DVSN front man Daniel Daley, sings on the hook “If I get caught cheating, that don’t mean I don’t love you. I know you ain’t gon’ let one little f**k mess all this up / Don’t let one mistake take all this away.”
Earlier this week, Jermaine Dupri and DVSN shared a text message thread with Jay-Z showing his clearance to sample ‘Song Cry’ and he had his own thoughts about the song’s content.
“I didn’t think one could make a song more toxic than ‘Song Cry.’ ‘I just want a disclaimer that says that I said this song is wrong! Haaaaa! And you’re good,” Jay wrote.
