Every year is a great year for Drake, one of the biggest artists in the world right now. But the past year brought Champagne Papi some very unexpected enemies.
It’s been over a year since Pusha T dropped his “The Story of Adidion’ diss track towards Drake, and despite how much criticism he got, Drake has stayed radio silent about the whole thing outside of the bars he spit in response.
But, the time has finally come, and Drizzy has opened up about the beef, and says he’s not interested in patching things up with King Push.
In an interview with Rap Radar, Drake talks about everything from his relationship with Rihanna and Drake, to the type of woman he wants in his life. But what really caught the eye of Champagne Papi fans was his commentary in regards to Pusha T revealing to the world that he was hiding his son Adonis from all of us.
When asked about how he felt, Drizzy says he bowed out gracefully because Push pulled out the most shocking information he could. He makes it clear that he doesn’t feel Pusha bodied him with the bars, but it was a great move on his part.
“I tip my hat to the chess move, I mean it was a genius play in the game of chess,” Drake says. “It definitely warranted my first ‘loss’ in the competitive sport of rapping. By choice, because I bowed out because after realizing that the gap between us allowed him to drop a bomb on the world, and that was all anybody cared about.”
While Drake is taking his L with pride, he maintains things were over after baby Adonis was brought into the equation.
“I sleep well at night knowing I didn’t get out-barred, and I didn’t get done’d off by some crazy song,” he continues. “He told the world the biggest artist at the time has a kid that he hasn’t told you about. So I knew kind of for me it was over at that point. It wasn’t even about battle rap or any of that. The information was just too shocking.”
